Newgrange Lodge, Co. Meath
Formerly an old farmhouse, Newgrange Lodge provides a unique venue that offers hotel accommodation and traditional Irish hospitality at bed and breakfast rates to both groups and the independent traveller alike. The guesthouse is located opposite the world famous UNESCO Heritage site of Newgrange, a tomb predating the Pyramids and Stonehenge by 400 years.Location: The Lodge is perched on seven acres overlooking the tranquil, picturesque Boyne Valley, the famous River Boyne and the ancient sites of Newgrange and Knowth. We are just 15 minutes from the Battle of the Boyne Heritage Centre. It provides the ideal base to explore Co. Meath and it's historical attractions. The Newgrange Lodge is approximately 30 minutes from Dublin Airport. The nearest town is Drogheda, a ten minute drive to Newgrange Lodge. Trains travel regularly to Drogheda from Dublin and Belfast. There are buses from Drogheda directly to Newgrange daily.
Rooms: All of the bedrooms are en-suite and equipped with power showers, cable tv, internet access and self-adjusting room thermostat.
Breakfast: Breakfast Rates include a continental breakfast served from 8.00 until 10.00am daily. Breakfast includes a selection of juices, cereals, an assortment of breads, freshly baked scones, tea and coffee.
Out at Newgrange Lodge, we can also arrange Bike Hire for those wishing to explore the Boyne Valley by Bike. We can also arrange a visit to other OPW sites such as Battle of the Boyne Site, Hill of Tara and Trim Castle.
Another favourite is a visit for families to Red Mountain Open Farm (this has a petting farm, picnic area (we can do up picnics for guests), a blue barrel express train and adventure land with mini tractors and diggers.
